The winners of the third edition of Excellence in Education were rewarded, yesterday, for their contribution in promoting societal change and development through education, during a ceremony at the World Hindi Secretariat in Phoenix.
The President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun; the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun; the Minister of Financial Services and Good Governance, Mr Mahen Kumar Seeruttun; the Trustee of the Intelligent Minds Trust (IMT), Mr Rajesh Bajaj; and other personalities were present at the award ceremony.
A book entitled ‘Baby Steps to Big Dreams’ by Dr Manjula Pooja Shroff was also launched on the occasion.
The event is an initiative of the Intelligent Minds Trust, a non-profit trust committed to reinforcing quality education for school children. The Excellence in Education aims to honour outstanding educational professionals for their dedication and commitment and to pay tribute to educators who go the extra mile to serve their students and their communities.
The award also provides a platform for educators to connect and learn from each other, share best practices and experiences, and collaborate to enhance the quality of education.
The first and second award ceremony of the Excellence in Education were held in United Kingdom and Mauritius, respectively.
