Yesterday, after the incidents that occurred during a live broadcast on Radio One, Praveen Ramburn recorded a precautionary measure at the Vacoas police station. The mayor of Vacoas-Phoenix went back over the incidents in question. He claims that PPS Gilbert Bablee, at the very beginning of the programme, Annabelle Sabavaddy, the host, used the term “Manhattan”. Bablee felt “offended”, according to the mayor of Vacoas-Phoenix. He also claims that when he heard the term ‘Manhattan’, the crowd got excited and started to disrupt the show. What also bothered Praveen Ramburn was the word ‘gopia’ used by someone people from the crowd. He added that he could not identify the person. But because of the incident, the programme had to be cut short. The mayor of Vacoas-Phoenix says he fears for his safety. Because he does not know the intentions of those who were in the crowd. That is why he is calling for regular police patrols near his residence.
