UK Lockdown Possibility: Boris Johnson Causes Psychosis, Even In Mauritius

Must Read

At the last count for the third week of October, UK has recorded its highest rate of positive cases than in mid-July, which was considered a peak. The average of the dynamic number of the total cases recorded is over 52,000 daily, representing 17.9 percent more than mid-July. During his visit in a vaccination centre in west London on Friday 22nd October, the UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has balked at the possibility of a potential autumn lockdown and this has caused a psychosis. British and non-British on vacation are planning to reduce their stay to avoid being held up in the respective visiting countries

This is the case for a mid-70’s British Lady that Le Matinal met at the SSRIA on Saturday 23rd October. She was planning to enjoy her stay in Mauritius till end of the first week of November. But now, Boris Johnson is admitting that the levels of infections in the country are high and repeating publicly his call to “Get your Boosters done”. Even though he is still balking at the idea of another potential COVID-19-related lockdown this autum, his stay-at-home advice or shops closing by saying “ I’ve got to tell you that at the moment, we see absolutely nothing to indicate that is on the cards at all” still made people panic.

On her own in Mauritius, this tourist got a call on Friday evening from her family. Following which, she decided to pack and get an earlier flight to get back to UK, “I did not want to get stuck in Mauritius in an eventuality of an Autumn Lock down. By taking the risk, I may not get the same insurance package and medications I brought are only up to the 06th of November. I want to reach healthy, freely and in a peaceful state of mind in my country”. Indeed, it is a precautionary measure but it costed her a surplus of £ 656. However, she is not the only one in this situation. We met other quite similar cases on Saturday evening, who were discussing about that decision to get back earlier, but also about about the cancellation and accommodation by Air Mauritius to a hotel for the night. The MK042 to Heathrow London scheduled on October 23 at 22h30 was cancelled and rescheduled for Sunday 24th October at 07h30. The flight took off at 12h29.
