The much-anticipated exhibition match between boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and YouTube star Logan Paul sure made enough publicity to grab attention of the world. But the match felt short of any such buzz at the end of the day. The match lacked any spark and felt like nothing more than a warm-up match. Floyd Mayweather, 44 who retired from boxing in 2017 after defeating UFC champion Conor McGregor, was 50-0 as a pro. 26 years old, Logan Paul, on the other hand, lost his first fight to another YouTube star KSI in 2019.
The exhibition match was the biggest pay-per-view draw in the history of boxing and clearly looked more like a spectacle and less of a sporting event. Mayweather’s last exhibition match was against 20-year-old Japanese kickboxer, Tenshin Nasukawa, in December 2018, where he ended up knocking him out thrice in the very first round. Logan Paul claimed that he had almost a year to prepare for this fight.
And even though the fight ended in a tie, ESPN scored the bout 78-74 in favour of Mayweather. Mayweather seemed to be impressed of Logan Paul and said, “He’s better than I thought he was… I was surprised by him tonight. Good work. Good little guy.”
The fans, however seemed to be unimpressed and bombarded Twitter with hilarious memes after the fight. According to reports, Logan Paul was expected to earn $250,000 in base salary, with an additional 10 percent pay-per-view share, while Floyd Mayweather earned a base salary of $10 million, as well as a 50 percent pay-per-view share.

While everyone expected an easy knockout from Mayweather, he seemed to put on a show and less of a boxing match with Logan Paul. Displeased fans booed at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami during the final round of the bout.
