The 8th edition of Brand Magic, which focuses on Mauritians’ favorite brands, was held on May 18, 2023 at the InterContinental Resort in Balaclava. At the end of the conference, the Apollo brand took first place. The poll was conducted by Analysis Kantar.
Rich in sharing and storytelling, this year’s event brought together marketing and public relations professionals. The theme of the conference was “Strategizing growth and evolution through new opportunities”.
Vinay Guddaye, CFO of the Economic Development Board of Mauritius, opened the conference by talking about the innovative directions Mauritius has taken and the progression of the economic industry. The presentation by Ali Rez, Chief Creative Officer at BBDO IMPACT, focused on creativity.
For his part, Chris Pick, Director, Brand Strategy & Performance, Landor & Fitch, spoke of the importance of effective, strategic brand communication.
Meanwhile, Uche Ogbonna, Senior Manager – Social Impact Strategy, Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability (PACS) at The Coca-Cola Company, focused on corporate sustainability.
The Analysis Kantar study was also unveiled at the conference. The results of the Top Brands of Mauritius Awards 2023 are as follows:
1. Preferred Local Brand : 1st – Apollo, 2nd – Phoenix, 3rd – Sunny
2. Employer Brand : 1st – PhoenixBev, 2nd – IBL, 3rd – MCB
3. Brand Purpose : 1st – MCB, 2nd – IBL, 3rd – Winners
4. Sustainable Brand : 1st – MCB, 2nd – IBL, 3rd – ENL
5. Inspirational Global Brand : 1st – Samsung, 2nd – Adidas, 3rd – KFC
