The black series continues on our roads. Bhavesh Seeram, 19 years old also known as Aniket is the latest victim as of Wednesday, May 10. This resident of Dubreuil was killed on the spot in an accident involving a Haojue motorcycle and a van on the road to Bambous in Pierrefonds. Another person who was riding on the motorcycle, Ritesh Ramdin, 20 years old and resident of Hermittage, Phoenix was seriously injured. She was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Victoria Hospital in Candos and placed on artificial respiration. Since the beginning of this year the number of deaths on our roads is forty-four.
It was shortly before one o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, May 10, that police officers from the Bambous police station went to the Bambous road, Pierrefonds, following a request for an accident. A Toyota Hiace van and a Haojue motorcycle were involved. The van was driven by a 48 year old man, living on Palma road, Quatre-Bornes. Several pieces of debris were scattered on this road. Shortly after this accident, a vehicle of the Emergency Response Service (ERS) that was driving in the direction of Beaux Songes like the van stopped. Quatreborn said he was driving along when he heard an impact against his van and his windshield cracked. After the police officers opened the door of his vehicle he saw two people lying in front and bleeding profusely. His motorcycle, according to him, came directly in his direction and it did not have the headlights on.
The people who were lying on the asphalt, one who was bleeding profusely from the nose and mouth was rushed to the hospital in Candos. The second injured person, who was conscious, was taken care of by the personnel of an ambulance of the Emergency Medical Service. Unfortunately, the doctor had to declare his death. His body was then taken to the Candos hospital morgue for an autopsy. The autopsy was performed by Dr. Sudesh Kumar Gungadin, head of the forensic department of the police, who attributed the death to multiple injuries.
Firefighters from Four Corners were dispatched to the scene of the accident to clean up the leaking oil and blood on the asphalt. The van and motorcycle were taken to the Bambous police station for examination. An investigation has been initiated to determine the exact circumstances of this accident. Investigators at the Bamboo police station assume that Bhavesh Seeram was driving the motorcycle, as it belongs to his father.
Bhavesh Seeram’s funeral was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 11. He was cremated at the Dubreuil crematorium.
