The leader of the opposition held a press conference on Saturday morning. He spoke on the nomination of a new boss at the help of the police force. “He is an interim Commissioner of police with a six-month contract. He is at the mercy of the government, specially the Prime Minister. He can be fired at any time,” said Xavier-Luc Duval.
For the PMSD leader, the government’s objective is clear: “It is to have a puppet in that post i.e, someone who will follow the directives of the government.” The leader of the opposition emphasized that the Constitution states that the Commission of police does not act under any control. “This is why there are strict and onerous conditions for the departure of a CP in office,” he said. Xavier-Luc Duval, therefore, appealed to Anil Kumar Dip to honour the post and to carry out his work according to the rules of the constitution.
