A 13-year-old schoolboy walking along Rue Lecornu, St. Croix in the early evening of Monday 16 May was attacked by a Rottweiler which was aggrieved with its owner. The teenager, who lives in the area, was injured in the right hip. The owner left with his dog. The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment.
On Tuesday morning, May 17, the teenager, accompanied by his mother, went to the Abercrombie, St. Croix police station to report the incident. In his complaint, he explained that he was walking along Lecornu Street, St. Croix at about 6 p.m. on Monday, May 16. He was in the vicinity of the Sandy’s tobacco shop when he saw a black Rottweiler dog chained with a neck collar with its owner.
The dog jumped on him and bit him on the right hip. The dog’s owner pulled him away before continuing on his way. His master pulled him away before continuing on his way. It is with a 58 year old form obtained at the hospital that he went to the police to give his statement.
An investigation was initiated to trace the owner and his dog.
