Raj Seebaluck, Azam Neerooa and Mehdi Manrakhan were present at the State House this Friday for their swearing-in ceremony as Puisne Judges of the Supreme Court. The ceremony took place before the President of the Republic. Pradeep Roopun appointed Raj Seebaluck, Azam Neerooa and Mehdi Manrakhan yesterday. Raj Seebaluck was previously Acting Deputy Master and Register and judge in the Bankruptcy Division of the Supreme Court. Mehdi Manrakhan was Acting Assistant Solicitor General and Azam Neerooa was Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecution. He is known for his role in the judicial enquiry in the death of Soopramanien Kistnen.
These appointments were approved yesterday by President Roopun, acting on the advice of the Judicial and Legal Service Commission, and takes effect as from today.
