Present at the official ceremony marking Women’s Day, Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth commented on the release of Brunette Laurette indirectly. He blamed certain institutions that take decisions that help traffickers. I find these decisions worse than the Evil Precedent,” the PM said. However, he did not mention any institution.
Pravind Jugnauth reiterated his fight against drug trafficking in the country. The Prime Minister however took up the term Evil Precedent, used by the Commissioner of Police in his statement to condemn the decision of the DPP’s office not to contest the release on bail of Bruneau Laurette.
Pravind Jugnauth recalled the devastation that the scourge of drugs has on families. “Zame dan nou pei, otan de seizi par miliar roupi ki nou inn fer ek kont ban trafikan. Nou pe amen enn combat serye. Nou le met lord dan nou pei. Dimoun pe trouve nou ban aksion. Nou dan enn kan pu amen enn konba kont ban mafia…” he added.
The Prime Minister said that everyone must take responsibility. And he as the first, he takes his responsibilities and that of his words.
