A 73-year-old man was seriously injured on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 19, after being hit by a motorcycle on Route Royale in Ecroignard. The septuagenarian is said to have crossed in front of a motorcycle, which was driving in the direction of Bel Air Rivière Sèche. He was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Dr Bruno Cheong Hospital in Flacq.
It was around 12:05 on Tuesday, April 19, that a team of police officers from the Flacq police station responded to a request on Route Royale, Ecroignard regarding an accident where a KTM motorcycle hit a pedestrian. Both were thrown to the asphalt. Both the pedestrian and the motorcyclist were taken to Flacq Hospital by volunteers. After receiving treatment, the motorcyclist was admitted to the ward and the 73-year-old man was admitted to the intensive care unit.
According to information available to investigators, the motorcyclist, who came from Flacq, was driving in the direction of Bel-Air-Rivière-Sèche. In the medical community of the hospital of Flacq, the health condition of this septuagenarian is considered to be critical.
