Jordan Clarel Abraham, a 29-year-old bricklayer living on Cemetery Road, Batterie-Cassée, Roche-Bois, was apprehended on Tuesday, February 7, at his home in possession of Rs 792,150 in suspected drug proceeds. Police officers from the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU), who searched his house, also found a transparent plastic bag containing a certain quantity, 1.8 grams, of cannabis.
Based on information that Clarel Abraham is involved in drug trafficking, a surveillance was conducted on his person for some time. This exercise paid off, because during a raid of these officers of the ADSU of the Metropolitan Police, led by Sergeant Conhyedoss, at Batterie Cassée, Roche-Bois around 11:30 am this Tuesday February 7 the sum of Rs 792,750 and a certain quantity, that is to say 1.8 grams, of cannabis were found in a plastic bag.
The ADSU suspects that this money comes from the sale of drugs. Clarel Abraham was taken to the ADSU office in Abercrombie, St. Croix for questioning. He was subsequently taken into police custody. This Wednesday morning, February 8, the suspect was brought before the Port Louis court where he was charged with drug trafficking.
