A raid by police officers of the Flying Squad of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu) at Louis Baudot Street, St. Croix on the basis of certain information allowed the seizure of one kilo of heroin on the morning of Thursday, January 13. Marie Laurence Odile Brue, born Jasmin 28 years old, saleswoman in a store specializing in the sale of sporting goods and equipment was arrested. The market value of the seized drugs is Rs 15 210 000. The boyfriend of this woman, a 33 years old hairdresser who was in her company at the time of her arrest, was questioned before being released. The saleswoman did not implicate him in this case.
It is after hours of surveillance that these police officers of the Flying Squad, led by Inspector Jauforally, conducted this raid at the home of this resident of St. Croix around 5:45 am on Thursday, January 13. The information obtained concerning illicit transactions, which were taking place there, turned out to be true.
The police officers discovered 100 doses of heroin (11 grams), 1 parcel wrapped with black adhesive tape containing 26 grams of heroin, another parcel containing 18 grams of synthetic drug and a plastic vial containing 22 doses of heroin (2 grams). In a nylon bag, these police officers found a parcel with 571 grams of heroin and 4 other plastic in which there were 383 grams of heroin and another parcel with 15 grams of the same drug.
Laurence Brue was brought before the court in Port-Louis on the afternoon of Thursday, January 13. She is facing a provisional charge of drug trafficking with aggravating circumstances. She was taken back to the police cell.
