A 13-year-old schoolboy living in the village of Queen Victoria, Flacq, has been a victim of bullying since the beginning of the school year. This teenager is so disturbed that his parents had to take him to a psychologist for treatment. As the situation worsened, his father accompanied him to the police station in Flacq on Thursday afternoon, 4 May, to give a statement on bullying. This victim denounced three of her friends who live in the same locality.
A policewoman assigned to the family protection brigade recorded this statement shortly after 2pm on Thursday 4 May for this schoolboy. In great detail he explained how between February and April of this year and also on 1 May last he was the victim of intimidation and aggression by his three friends.
Two of his friends, aged 13 and 17, attend the same private school in Flacq, and another 13-year-old student who attends a school in the same village. On several occasions, the victim says, his three friends punched him in the ribs and head between February and April this year.
On Monday 1 May at around 8pm, one of these 13-year-olds threatened him with an assault. The victim, who has a swelling on the left side of his head, did not go to the hospital and declined to be examined by a doctor.
The case was referred to the Family Protection Brigade.
