The Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu) of the western division made a big discovery at Ile aux Bénitiers this Friday morning, July 1, based on some information. These policemen went to a place in the southwest region of the country. They unearthed a bag containing six packages. Four containing heroin, 3650 grams and two 1700 grams of synthetic drug. The whole is of a market value of Rs 63 250 000.
This operation was mounted by the men of the assistant superintendent of police, Rajeev Subba Reddi and Sergeant Mohun, under the supervision of the assistant commissioner of police, Deosagur Ramgoolam. These police officers have been working on this information for at least three days. It was during the morning of Friday, July 1 that they landed on this island. After having carried out research they had thus been able to locate the exact place where this drug had been dissimulated.
Technicians of the scientific police were mandated on the spot to carry out samples and to collect clues being able to help to identify those which buried this bag with these parcels of drug. This one, which was placed in security at the Adsu headquarters at the Central Barracks, will be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis.
