Two buckets in which were placed two packages of heroin respectively were dug up under the sea in Baie du Tombeau this Saturday morning of October 01. Based on certain information, a team from the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) of the Western Division went to this location. The market value of this drug, weighing 1017 grams, is Rs 15 255 000.
It is around 7 o’clock this Saturday morning of October 01 that this team of the ADSU, led by Sergeant Mohun, went to the end of Dorade Street, Baie du Tombeau. Based on certain information, these policemen had to go to about fifty meters in the water. They then searched from a depth of about one meter before getting their hands on two buckets in which there were, respectively, two packages containing heroin. The buckets were well sealed and the drugs well wrapped with plastic.
The exhibits were taken to ADSU headquarters where fingerprints and DNA tests will be performed. The drugs will then be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Reduce for analysis. The ADSU hopes to eventually identify the person who buried the drugs.
