The trend is on the rise again. The 100-case daily mark has been exceeded by a significant number of 48. The balance sheet for Monday 24 January is 148 new positive cases. However, vaccination is also on the rise and the government is coming up with new formulas to motivate it.
Today’s new rate adds to the rate of positive cases since last March at 25, 381. 9 patients have been admitted to the 5 regional hospitals, which also have 9 discharges. And at the New ENT Hospital, 1 discharge. The rate of cured patients since last March is 24, 448.
Statistics from vaccination centres show 966,732 people for the first dose, 928,443 for the second and 304,315 for the third/booster dose.
“Vaccination” special leave
A very good news is circulating for the employees of the public and private sectors who are going to be vaccinated soon. Indeed, as from this Monday, each employee will benefit from a day off classified as “special leave” for this purpose. This day of leave will not be deducted from their salary, nor from their “sick” or “local” leaves. The employee will, however, have to present a certificate of vaccination duly dated and signed to his employer.
