A 19-year-old hotel employee from the Flacq area was sexually abused by two individuals on the evening of Sunday, October 29. She was walking down a street in the village of Bel Air when she was accosted by two individuals. They threatened her before assaulting her. She was raped in turn by these men near a cave. One of the men filmed the scene on his cell phone. He threatened her not to tell anyone, otherwise he would make the video go viral.
It was at the Bel Air police station that the young woman gave her statement explaining the sexual abuse she had suffered. After being approached by these two men, who first threatened her before assaulting her, she was dragged to the vicinity of a cave. There, she was raped in turn. One of the men filmed the scene before threatening her that if she ever told the police or anyone else, he would make the video viral.
On her way home, the victim was picked up by a police vehicle on patrol and taken to the Bel Air Rivière Sèche police station. She sustained injuries to her private parts, as one of the two men put out a cigarette there. She was taken to the Dr Bruno Cheong Hospital in Flac for treatment and admitted to the ward to follow protocol for victims of sexual abuse. She says she can identify the two suspects.
