The decision has been taken. The price of cattle under the 2021 qurbani will be Rs 151 per kilo. This is what emerges from a meeting held this Thursday, June 24 between government officials and those of the two livestock importers, Socovia Belle Vue Ltée and Neel-Agro Ltd.
A meeting chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Anwar Husnoo and in which also participated the ministers Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo and Soodesh Callichurn as well as Dr Zouberr Joomaye, advisor to the Prime Minister’s office.
The price is thus higher by Rs 14.50 compared to 2020 (Rs 136.50). Two factors are said to have contributed to this: a depreciation of the rupee and an increase in freight rates.
