Mauritians John Colin, Adel Motean and Kennedy St-Pierre were all winners yesterday at the Charter Hall in Nairobi, Kenya. The first two nominees who were on their baptism of fire on the professional circuit were impressive.
Adel Motean took only ten seconds to knock out George Ocheing. “I am very satisfied, ten seconds was enough to win the fight. I thank my coaches and everyone who supported me,” he said.
It was also a dream start for John Colin, 32, who was up against Ken Oyolo of Kenya. “I dedicate this victory to my family and Mauritius,” he said.
As for Kennedy St-Pierre, he also won on Kenyan soil against Ally Ramadhan d♪8s the first round where he brought his opponent to his knees twice. “I was confident for this fight. I went into the ring to get the job done. I thank everyone who supported me in this adventure,” he said. After his loss to South African Shaun Potgieter last month, Kennedy St-Pierre has thus redeemed himself.
