After the official ceremony on Thursday, the PM spent the night in Algalega before going back to Mauritius on Friday. However, he had a busy Friday visiting and getting closer to the people of Algalega.
On Friday, the Prime Minister visited the southern part of Agalega. A day that should start early this morning for the head of government. On site, he visited several historic sites, the church, and the old weather station. The PM and elected officials, including Ismaël Rawoo, discovered handicrafts, the Village 25 community center….
The Prime minister had the chance to interact with the people of Algalega in different occasions. He even shared meal with them; participated in football match. For The prime Minister, he was “ the opportunity to discover south of Agalega and experienced friendship and hospitality of so many locals. On his FB page, the PM wrote: It’s a great joy for me to join with a lot of our fellow Agaleans. New multipurpose hall that we inaugurated on site to benefit many residents.
The Prime Minister and Mrs. K. Nandini Singla, the Republic of India’s High Commissioner to Mauritius, jointly inaugurated the plaque honouring the Centre Polyvalent Sainte Rita.
This infrastructure project will help Agaléens, especially those living in the southern side of the island, by housing an administrative office, a store, and a community centre.
Prime Minister Jugnauth, the Indian High Commissioner, and a ministerial entourage were invited by Agaléga Deputy Resident Director Steeve Clarisse to visit a memorial and historic site in the south after the opening ceremony.
