The general public is hereby informed that Petite Rivière Police station is temporarily closed with immediate effect and consequently will not be operational until all necessary sanitary measures are taken, and the station is certified safe by the Health authorities. This decision is being taken in the interest of the public safety and to avoid any risk of contamination with the novel Corona virus. Today 22th June 2021, a Police Sergeant posted at Petite Rivière has been tested positive to the Covid-19. Subsequently, personnel who had been in direct contact with him are self-isolated at their place. The Ministry of Health will carry out a PCR Test upon all police officers concerned. Given the situation, the Commissioner of Police, in his wisdom, has instructed to close the station temporarily.
Inhabitants of the locality of Petite Rivière and the neighborhood, who normally avail themselves of the service of Petite Rivière Police Station, may turn to either Coromandel Police Station or Albion Police Station should there be any need for police assistance.
