COVID-19: 12 New Cases Found Monday Night

The laboratories of the Ministry of Health and Welfare carried out 2,794 PCR tests yesterday, June 21, 2021. The latest results were obtained late in the evening.

  • 10 cases were detected thanks to the ongoing Contact Tracing exercises.
  • 1 case was detected following a routine test. This is a staff member from the Department of Health and Welfare. Investigations to establish the epidemiological link are ongoing.
  • 1 case was detected at the COVID-19 Testing Center at Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital. This is a resident of Pailles. The patient’s epidemiological link has already been established.

1,169 people have contracted COVID-19 since March 5, and as of yesterday afternoon, 760 of them, considered cured, have been able to return home.

The country currently has 392 active cases of COVID-19 and as of this morning, only 38 of them were admitted to New ENT Hospital due to pre-existing comorbidities or mild symptoms requiring medical monitoring.
