The Metro Express will be doing this for the second time, and this will be for the pilgrimage for Père Laval from 08 to 09 September. The first time was for the Krishna Janmashtami festival.
This year marks the 158th anniversary of the death of Blessed Père Laval. The pilgrimage to the tomb in Sainte Croix will begin on Thursday 08 September. The church and the vault will be open from 6 am until midnight. Under the theme of “Per Laval aprann nou mars ansam“, this year also marks the resumption of the pilgrimage. “Everything has been put in place to experience the high point of this pilgrimage after two years of health restrictions,” said Father André Sunassee, a member of the organizing committee.
Thus, the Phoenix to Port Louis and back Metro Express line will remain operational until 01:30. There are also shuttle arrangements from Victoria Station to Sainte Croix and back.
