Pascal Armance is a painter. When it comes to his passion, his favourite subject is the universe with its waltz of shapes and colours. Meet him.
Art is in Pascal’s blood at the age of 43. Born into a family of artists, he studied art as a major until he obtained his Higher School Certificate (HSC). Then he abandoned his brushes and palette.
This passion finally caught up with him in 2016: “I had not touched paint for 18 years. In the meantime, I left Mauritius for Canada and it is in my adopted country that I started again. That was in 2016.”
For his reunion with painting, Pascal will set his sights on the Milky Way: “I like astrophotography. I tried it here in Canada. Then I wanted to transcribe this photographic genre into my paintings by superimposing the celestial and the terrestrial in my works.
Working in the banking sector, Pascal lives partly from his passion by selling his paintings: “I sell my paintings on online sales platforms. I sell my paintings on online sales platforms. In fact, I have sold quite a few paintings in Canada and Europe and I am very happy about that. I don’t think I could have done that much if I was in Mauritius. Buying a painting for Canadians is part of their culture. They understand the value of art.
On the project side, the artist plans to hold a solo exhibition once he is ready.
