Clouds associated with a low-pressure area evolving to the East-North-East are still influencing the local weather. A Heavy Rain Warning remains in force in Mauritius, valid till noon.
The Ministry of Education has issued a statement saying that pre-primary, primary, secondary and vocational schools will be closed this Friday, March 10. However, school principals and non-teaching staff will have to go to work. However, it should be noted that due to the Independence Day holiday, the schools will have to close at 11 am this Friday.
FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS:
Cloudy this morning mainly over the eastern part of the island, the South and the central plateau with showers.
The showers will be moderate at times accompanied by thunderstorms and of short duration will be locally heavy.
These showers may cause temporary water accumulation in some areas.
After a temporary break in the early afternoon, other clouds approaching from the South East will cause showers, moderate at times, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms.
