UK: Serious Collision At Junction 4 Turn-Off For Birmingham West And Stourbridge, Involving Mauritians

M5 crash in snow, as drivers face chaos in dreadful conditions. A serious crash involving two cars and a lorry has closed the M5 motorway south west of Birmingham. Four Mauritians have been taken to hospital after the collision, three with serious injuries. There were multiple efforts by Police, Ambulance & Firefighters to rescue them from the wreckage…3 of them suffered serious injuries and are presently in ICU in a Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham the Driver is in serious condition.

West Mercia Police reported on social media at 12:51 am(British Time) on Thursday that the northbound carriageway of the M5 had been blocked due to a multi-vehicle accident at Junction 4, the exit for the A38 Halesowen Road for Bromsgrove and Stourbridge). A diversion had been set up via the motorway’s slip roads, but there was about a mile of stationary and slow-moving traffic in the affected area.

In their tweet, the police stated: “We’re currently dealing with a serious collision on the M5 northbound between J3 and J5. Please find an alternative route if you can.”

The National Highways authority for the West Midlands also issued a tweet stating: “The M5 northbound is closed within J4 Rubery due to a serious collision. Traffic is being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads. Emergency services and traffic officers are in attendance. Please allow additional journey time if you are in the area.”
