Navin Ramgoolam is expected to return to Mauritius this weekend after being declared cured of Covid-19 by his treating doctors in India. The time and the date are not clear, members of the Labour Party said, but it will be either Saturday or Sunday. The party is preparing a mobilisation for the return of its leader. There will be probably rallies at roundabouts on the way from the airport to the Riverwalk.
In a statement on Tuesday, Dr Randeep Guleria, one of the doctors of the Labour’s leader, said that “Dr Ramgoolam is cured of Covid-19 and has been given the green light to fly”. He added that Navin Ramgoolam has however been advised to stay at home, limit his activities and not take part in public events during his recovery process. Navin Ramgoolam said the he had consultations with my medical team, Dr. Randeep Guleria and Dr. Neeraj Nischal.
The former Prime Minister was admitted to the All-Indian Institutes of Medical Services (AIIMS), New Delhi, on September 9 for treatment of a severe form of Covid-19. He travelled in a medical aircraft of the Indian company SpiceJet. He was accompanied by Dhaneswar Damry.
