Navin Ramgoolam: “A Wave Has Risen”

Must Read

Navin Ramgoolam was the last speaker at the PTr-MMM-PMSD alliance congress in Vacoas. He declared that the government is like the Titanic on a breaker. “A wave has risen. The MSM ship is capsizing”, he declared. For him, the only option for the MSM to prevent the opposition alliance from flying to a major victory is to sow dissension between the three components of the alliance.

This was the question posed by Navin Ramgoolam in his speech at the Vacoas congress. He said that he finds things quite fishy in the new electoral register. “At No. 8, between 2022 and 2023, there were 4,800 more voters. Where did they come from? We need to see if they are Bangladeshis,” he said. Navin Ramgoolam also said that the same thing can be seen at No. 5, where 3,723 more voters found their way onto the register. “I will request an appointment with the Electoral Commissioner on this matter. What’s more, we’re going to amend the law once we’re in power. We’re going to give more powers to the Electoral Commissioner,” he asserted. For Navin Ramgoolam, true patriots cannot stand idly by in the face of disaster and the destruction of the country.

Bérenger’s appeal to “true patriots

In his speech at the Vacoas congress, Paul Bérenger appealed to “all true patriots and true progressives” to join the alliance. He added that this was a crucial time. “The country’s destiny is in our hands. I call on all progressives and patriots to join us”, he declared. He also said that everything must be done to prevent electoral fraud and Internet fraud. He also said that everything must be done to stop the government’s attacks on the DPP and its team. “They are committing a crime. Tomorrow, they could attack the judiciary,” said Paul Bérenger.

Duval: “It’s a crusade we’re waging”.

The PTr-MMM-PMSD alliance held its congress this Friday at Vacoas-Phoenix town hall. Xavier-Luc Duval was the first of the three leaders to speak. He spoke of the success of the gathering. For him, it’s a crusade that the opposition platform is waging. “It’s going to get bigger by the day”, he declared. He said he was looking for a comparison with the crusade being waged by the PTr-MMM-PMSD alliance. “The only image that comes to mind is Mahatma Gandhi’s salt march. He put an end to British colonization in India. That’s what I think when I see the crowds at Mare d’Albert and Vacoas,” he declared. For him, the country is in a difficult situation. He also spoke of what Margaret Thatcher did in Great Britain.
