This statement was made at a joint press conference with the lawyers of Soopramanien Kistnen’s widow, also known as the Avengers, on the sidelines of the 16 October demonstration.
This is a significant date for the Avengers as it marks the first anniversary of the disappearance of Soopramanien Kistnen whose burnt body was discovered on Sunday 18 October in a cane field in Telfaire, Moka.
Nando Bodha, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, also questioned why the Safe City cameras do not show the images of Moka and Louise for October 16, 2020. Furthermore, who would have the power to demand that the results of the post-mortem forensic analysis not be handed over to the relevant authorities, or who would have the power to make certain exhibits at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) disappear?
There is no doubt in Nando Bodha’s mind that all this is being orchestrated by a ‘Master Mind’.
Bodha also recalled that the Kistnen case and the grey areas surrounding the death were among the reasons that prompted him to resign from the government.
For his part, lawyer Rama Valayden, one of the key players in the Avengers, is still unwilling to divulge the two names he claims to have given to the police commissioner for the purposes of the investigation. But on social networks names are already being thrown around.
