A former teacher and assistant schoolmistress, Marlette now spends her free time indulging her passion for music: “In all modesty, I no longer count my albums, but I think I’m the Rodrigues artist who has released the most albums in her career,” Marlette points out with pride.
And for good reason, she’s been singing since she was a teenager: “Back then, I won a radio contest called Pop Fair. The trophy was presented to me by Sir Gaëtan Duval himself. It was a great encouragement for me. So I persevered, writing more and taking part in other singing competitions like Bate sega, which revealed me to the general public.”
Drawing a lot of inspiration from everyday life for his lyrics, the artist also has a particularity: “Most of my texts are punctuated with humor. I’m a person who loves to laugh and always takes life on the bright side.”
