Visham Ramloll, a 38-year-old resident of Ecroignard, met a tragic end on the Route Royale in Laventure when his motorcycle was involved in a road accident. Seriously injured, an ambulance from the Service d’Aide Médicale d’Urgence was dispatched to the scene. Unfortunately, the doctor on board could only pronounce him dead.
The accident occurred on the afternoon of Friday February 9. Visham Ramloll’s motorcycle was travelling towards Flacq on the Route Royale de Laventure near the Fitness Centre when it was involved in an accident with a truck. The impact was so violent that the thirty-year-old and his two-wheeled machine were thrown onto the asphalt. Seriously injured, a Samu ambulance was called to the scene of the accident, but he was pronounced dead on the spot. The victim’s body was taken to the morgue of the Dr A.G.Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis, for an autopsy. The autopsy, carried out by Dr Prem Chamane, Principal Police Medical Officer, attributed the death to multiple injuries. The truck and motorcycle were taken to the Brisée Verdière police station for examination.
An investigation was launched at the Brise Verdière police station to shed light on the exact circumstances of this fatal accident. The driver of the vehicle was subjected to an alcohol test, which proved negative. He was arrested and detained on a charge of manslaughter.
