A 16-year-old motorcyclist suffered serious injuries to his ribs and spine in a road accident in Bassin Blanc on the afternoon of Sunday January 7. The resident of La Brasserie, Forest-Side went off the road before falling heavily onto the asphalt. He was rushed to Jawaharlall Nehru Hospital in Rose Belle before being transferred to Victoria Hospital in Candos on the evening of the same day.
Following a request, a team of police officers from the Chemin Grenier police station arrived on the Bassin Blanc road at around 3 p.m. on Sunday January 7. Arriving at the scene, the officers found a young man lying on the asphalt to the left of the road, with a black Jialing motorcycle beside him.
Although he was conscious, he was unable to walk. He was picked up by an ambulance from the Service d’Aide Médicale d’Urgence (Samu) and taken to Rose Belle hospital. At the time of the accident, the road was dry and in good condition. No infrastructure was damaged in the accident. His motorcycle was taken to the Chemin Grenier police station for examination.
At the hospital, several rib fractures and a spinal fracture were detected. On the evening of Sunday January 7, this resident of La Brasserie, Forest-Side was transferred to Candos hospital, where he was admitted to the spinal column ward.
Given his state of health, he was unable to take a breathalyzer test. An investigation has been launched at the Chemin Grenier police station to shed light on the exact circumstances of this accident.
