A policewoman assigned to the Family Protection Squad reported a case of sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl late Monday afternoon, May 30. The teenager, who is a grade 8 student and attends the pre-vocational class of a college in the capital, had been missing since 4 pm on Friday, May 27. It was in the presence of her mother that her statement was recorded. She explained that she had sexual relations with her boyfriend and with another man. This case was taken in charge by the Child Development Unit (CDU) of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Welfare.
The teenage girl who was reported missing at the police station of Pope Hennessy, Port-Louis, on Friday, May 27, was found during the day on Monday, May 30. This case was then referred to the brigade for the protection of the family for investigation. Questioned, she explained that during her escape she was in the company of her boyfriend. She said she was sodomized by this man. It was around 18 hours on Friday, May 27 at the Champ-de-Mars under the porch of the Tote System building.
Her boyfriend, she confided in her statement, lives somewhere on the road to Pamplemousses, Port-Louis. During the evening of Saturday, May 28, she said she had sex with another man, whose address she does not know. On Sunday, May 29, at approximately 6:00 p.m., she and her boyfriend went to the garden Les Salines, Port-Louis, where they had sex.
The teenager told police that she can identify the places where she had sex. She was seen by a psychologist during the day on Tuesday, May 31.
