The treatment continues for Cléanne Papillon. Now 3 years old, she will be going to India soon, for heart tests and possibly a spinal surgery. The date of this trip has not yet been set.
Cleanne Papillon, is known to be the third miracle baby in the world with a split heart, to have been successfully saved by twin separation surgery. We remember that on March 14, 2019, Dr. Devi Shetty and her team of about 20 people spent more than ten hours to separate the Siamese twins of the Papillon couple. The surgery took place at Narayana Hospital in Bangalore and was a success. On Friday, May 31, 2019, Cléanne Papillon returned to Mauritius. Since then, she is regularly followed by doctors.
According to her mother’s testimony, the little girl is blossoming day by day, surrounded by her family in St. Croix.
However, in a few days, she will have to go back to India for further examinations.
Dr. Ram Mudhoo, Neonatal Respiratory Therapist in Mauritius, is treating Cleanne Papillon’s case. In an interview with MBC, he pointed out that “We are going to send the child to the same hospital, that is Narayana. She will be taken care of by the same team in India. This time it will be for cardiac surgery and the doctors will again reassess her spine, to see if she needs another surgery. After the CT Angio, a decision will be made in this sense.”
Regarding this trip to the Grand Peninsula, Marie Helene, Cleanne’s mother, says she is confident because her daughter is a fighter at heart.
