The Minister of Financial Services and Good Governance, Mr. Mahen Kumar Seeruttun, lauded the Mauritius Institute of Directors’ (MIoD) milestone journey at a gala dinner held, last Thursday, at the Sugar Beach Hotel in Flic en Flac, to mark its 15th anniversary.
In his keynote speech, Minister Seeruttun emphasised that over the years, the MIoD has showcased its commitment and unwavering efforts in promoting good governance, ethical practices and leadership excellence in the Mauritian business sector.
Moreover, the Financial Services Minister underlined that the MIoD has been a valued partner of his Ministry, supporting common endeavours in a bid to strengthen the competitiveness of the country’s jurisdiction as a leading International Financial Centre (IFC). He remarked that the MIoD has given much importance over the years to open lines of communication with the Government, the private sector, and its members, which he pointed out, has been a hallmark of its success by playing a key role in the business life in Mauritius and shaping public debate around topical and pressing issues.
MIoD’s efforts in strengthening public-private partnerships to contribute driving economic growth of the country, and creating an ecosystem where collaboration and cooperation can prosper, were further underscored by Mr Seeruttun.
The Minister also recalled that Government values constant drive for innovation and growth while pledging for continued support to partners such as MIoD as it endeavours to develop and grow the Mauritius IFC to double its contribution to GDP by 2030.
