The 2nd edition of the Mauritius International Art Fair (MIAF) is currently taking place. Several activities are underway, including an exhibition featuring 120 artists from here and abroad. The exhibition will be held until 26 June at the Genie Gallery at 246 Edith Cavell Court – Port Louis.
The Covid-19 pandemic has upset MIAF’s plans. Indeed, the event which had its first edition in 2019 has been put on hold due to the health restrictions imposed: “The MIAF is an annual artistic and cultural event that allows local and international artists to showcase their talent. Unfortunately the 2nd edition could not take place due to Covid-19. As things have improved a lot this year, we decided to go ahead with the project,” explains Zaahirah Muthy, organiser of MIAF and founder of ZeeArt.
Several activities are taking place within the framework of the MIAF: “On 22 June, we held a conference on art and finance. Other activities (see the calendar) will follow, but the main attraction remains the exhibition of 120 artists from here and elsewhere. They will be exhibiting their work until June 26 at the Genie Gallery at 246 Edith Cavell Court – Port Louis. I invite the public to come and admire the talent of these artists. The exhibition is free and is open from 10am to 7pm,” said Zaahirah.
