Meera Mohun is no more. She passed away at the age of 64. Gérard Louis, her childhood friend, remembers her as a very humble woman.
“She was not feeling well yesterday. And shortly afterwards I learned the sad news. The medical report says that she died of a heart attack,” explains a shocked Gérard Louis – the president of MASA.
He grew up next to the singer: ‘In the past, I lived in Tranquebar and we were neighbours. I lived with her family, so to speak, before I became her producer.
For Gérard, besides her exceptional voice, Meera was above all a humble person: “She was gentleness personified. She was a very calm person.
Dominique Barret, with whom Meera sang the song Mon cœur épris, did not hide his sadness on his Facebook page: “It is with great sadness that I learn today of the death of Meera Mohun, a golden voice, moments and an unforgettable song shared together, all my condolences to her family.
As a reminder, her funeral takes place today at 4pm. The remains will be laid to rest at the Moura Funeral Home in Petite-Rivière. The cremation will take place at the Bois Marchand cemetery.
A tribute will be paid to her very soon, during a concert organised by Gérard Louis.
