After their great performance at the Games held in United Arabs Emirates (UAE ), Mauritian athletes were welcomed at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport by the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation, Mr Jean Christophe Stephan Toussaint, family and friends.
It is be recalled that the Mauritian team has won a total of 46 medals including 17 Gold Medals; 14 Silver Medals and 15 Bronze Medals at the Games held in United Arabs Emirates (UAE), namely the World Para Athletics Grand Prix, Sharjah International Open Para Athletics Meeting and Khorfakkan 1st WPA International Meeting.
Minister Toussaint congratulated the Mauritian team who outshined in the Games and broke several national records. He indicated that the remarkable performance presents an opportunity to further motivate the athletes to increase their abilities and give their best in upcoming Games.
The Dubai World Para Athletics Grand Prix was held from 08 to 15 February 2024 in Dubai while the Sharjah International Open Para Athletics Meeting took place from 04 to 06 February 2024 in UAE. As for the Khorfakkan 1st WPA International Meeting, it was held from 08 to 09 February 2024 in UAE.
