A 71 year old Mauritian woman who has been living in France for many years had the unpleasant surprise on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 26 to find that her house in Souillac had been robbed. This crime was committed by breaking and entering during her absence between Saturday 22 and Wednesday 26 October. She was at her sister’s house in Gris Gris. A loot of 3890 euros, or Rs 165 325 was taken.
It was in the late afternoon of Wednesday, October 26 that the septuagenarian went to the Souillac police station to report a case of burglary at her home in Souillac. She explained to the investigators that she has been living in France for years. During her absence, her sister who lives in Gris Gris takes care of her house, which is fenced in with concrete walls.
When she returned home around noon on Wednesday, October 26, she noticed that her aluminum door had been broken into. Thieves left with a gold chain, two gold rings, a gold necklace, a cell phone, kitchen utensils, a mixer, two bottles of whiskey, clothes, shampoo, perfume, a Tissot watch and a TNT decoder. The whole is worth Rs 165 325.
The septuagenarian who arrived in Mauritius since Friday, October 14, is expected to return to her adopted country on Thursday, April 13, 2023. The Criminal Investigation Division of Souillac has been seized of this case.
