After hours of surveillance following information obtained concerning Nancy Amanda Pierre, 26 years old, who would be involved in illicit activities, police officers of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu) of the Western Division raided her home at Morcellement de Chazal, Flic en Flac this Tuesday morning, February 21. This exercise allowed these policemen to discover a bag of Heritage rice in which there were 953 grams of heroin and the sum of Rs 25,800 at the house of this woman who works as a cleaning lady in a hotel of the west coast. The market value of this drug is Rs 14 295 000.
It is around 9:15 am, this Tuesday February 21 that this team of Adsu led by the inspector Fowdar searched the house of this employee of hotel. The information obtained by this team proved to be true, because indeed, during this search, these policemen discovered 952 grams of heroin, one gram of the same drug wrapped in aluminum foil and a sum of Rs 25,800. This money is suspected to come from the sale of this drug.
On the other hand, another Adsu team from the same division, led by Inspector Moheshwa, arrived at the home of Bhooneswarsing Angateeah in Boundary, Rose-Hill at around 10:15 am on Tuesday 21 February. A search of the home of the 48 year old man who works as an operator resulted in the seizure of a parcel containing 646 grams of cannabis. The value of this drug is Rs 775 200.
The two suspects were taken to the Adsu office in Rose-Hill for questioning. The seized drugs were transported to the Adsu headquarters at Central Barracks for storage. It will later be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Reduit for analysis.
A charge of drug trafficking was retained against these two suspects. Nancy Amanda Pierre will be brought before the court in Bambous this Wednesday morning, February 22. Bhooneswarsing Angateeah will be presented in court in Rose-Hill.
