For the first time, the President of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina has expressed himself on the plot for his murder in an attempt to overthrow his government.
Andry Rajoelina spoke on national television on Sunday night and gave some hints on those who wanted to murder him.
The plot’s name is Apollo 21 with budget of 5 million earmarked to overthrow the President and his ministers.
Andry Rajoelina confirmed having met with the presumed mastermind of the plot, Mr Paul Rafanoharana. The latter came to meet the President in 2009 and wanted to become Ambassador in France, to which Rajoelina refused. The President said he met the same person in a religious ceremony on another occasion.
Andry Rajoelina stated that the plot to murder him is an attempt to kill Madagascar’s sovereignty. He hoped that such events will never happen again.
