The Labour Party has recorded a series of resignations since yesterday. These include Labour Party General Secretary Kalyanee Juggoo, Dr Ashok Kumar Aubeeluck, Jean Harel Lamvohee and Ravin Seechurn. Jean Harel Lamvohee previously served as Mauritius’ ambassador to Maputo, Mozambique. Ravin Seechurn was Campaign Manager for No. 18 (Belle-Rose/Four Corners) in the 2019 parliamentary elections.
Kalyanee Juggoo, the former PTr secretary general was in front of the press on Thursday afternoon, 8 September. She refused to say that she would join the MSM. “I haven’t decided what I’m going to do yet,” said Kalyanee Juggoo. She said that Navin Ramgoolam too has asked her the same thing. Asked to comment on Pravind Jugnauth’s action, Kalyanee Juggoo was very complimentary. “Pravind Jugnauth is the youngest Prime Minister Mauritius has ever known. He is doing well in his position. He does not receive insults like the others,” she said.
