Second day of competition at the Indian Ocean Islands Games. A mixed day for Mauritius. On the medals table, Madagascar is ahead of Réunion. Mauritius is in third place with 7 gold medals.
In Badminton, Mauritius took gold in the women’s team event. In Taekwondo, Brian Joseph took silver. Cycling: Mauritians take silver in the team time trial. Kate Foo Kune’s team dominated the Mahoraises 3-0 in the final.
Rémi Feuillet wins a fourth gold medal for Mauritian Judo.
Weightlifting: Doushka Gopaloodoo, triple bronze medallist. Mauritius puts in a fine performance in cycling, topping the podium in the team CLM. Team Maurice-MCB A, comprising Christopher Lagane, Alexandre Mayer, Aurélien de Comarmond and Hanson Matombé, completed the 61.9km course in one hour 20 minutes and 19 seconds ahead of the two teams from Reunion Island.
Taekwondo: Lucas Meunier and Adarsh Sohun win bronze. Mauritian taekwondo picked up two silver medals thanks to Lucas Meunier (-54 kg) and Adarsh Sohun (-87 kg) at the end of the second day of competition this Sunday at the Mahamasima gymnasium. The two Mauritian fighters beat their Madagascan opponents to reach the podium. Our weightlifters Sheridane Pasnin and Anne Volbert put in outstanding performances, and the medals were won for Mauritius!
