Jessie Gooriah has made art her profession. An art teacher at a state college, she’s planning a painting exhibition early next year. Meet her.
Jessie has been passing on her passion to her students for 18 years. However, this Tyack resident likes to get off the beaten path a bit: “Art is so subjective that it’s important to step outside the curriculum a bit to allow students to experience other artistic perspectives. That’s kind of my way of teaching.”
Touching on everything, the artist nevertheless excels in pointillism: “It is indeed my favorite technique. With, I realize both portraits and landscapes.
And if all goes well, Jessie already invites the public to come and enjoy her first solo exhibition: “The successive confinements have inspired me to put all my feelings on the canvas. I intend to exhibit them by March or April of next year. Of course, the date and place are not yet confirmed, but the exhibition will take place next year if the current health restrictions are lifted.
