How did you end up as Tina Arena’s drummer?
In December 2019, the musical director had already contacted me to be part of Tina Arena’s orchestra for three concerts. Since returning to Australia, I’ve worked a lot with the same director, including on shows like Dancing with the Stars, Australian Idol and Mask Singer. And when Tina Arena started planning her tour for October and November, I was asked to be her drummer. And this time I was free to live the adventure.

How does it feel to be the drummer for such a star?
First of all, it’s an opportunity for me to travel the world and live my passion for music to the full. What’s more, it’s an honor for me to accompany an international artist like Tina Arena, who is appreciated in both French-speaking and English-speaking countries.

Which major cities will the tour visit?
In October, we’ll be playing in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast and many other cities. Then we’ll be heading for Los Angeles, New York, Washington, Canada, France and London. Towards the end of November, I’ll be heading back to Mauritius, perhaps with Tina Arena in tow (laughs).

How would you like to do a duet with Tina Arena?
Tina knows that I sing too. In fact, she sings my songs in Creole and English. She regularly comments on my posts on social networks too. It would be another honor for me to sing with her on a track. Maybe Mauritians will hear me sing in French for the first time with Tina Arena (laughs).
