Elements of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Terre Rouge had to face a hostile crowd during the day of Friday, April 7, to recover a motorcycle of the brand Suzuki EN 125 at the street Alfred Besnard in Roche Bois near the park “cochons”. This two-wheeled machine worth Rs 43,000 had been stolen on the evening of Thursday, March 3 at Le Hochet, Terre Rouge.
It is based on certain information that these men of the CID of Terre Rouge composed of sergeant Jodhoa, constables Mohit, Koopla, Seenauth and Naudeer led by inspector Ramburrun, under the supervision of the assistant superintendent of police, Buchoo went to the street Alfred Besnard, Roche Bois, not far from the park “pigs”. A crowd was hostile to the police presence. The stolen Suzuki was spotted at the corner of this street.
These policemen did not have an easy task and had to fight with these people to take possession of this motorcycle. This one was taken to the police station of Terre Rouge. The same day it was identified by its owner, a young 22-year-old salesman living in Bois Pignolet, Terre Rouge as his own.
On March 3, this man had parked his motorcycle in front of Orleans Tool Shop in Le Hochet, Terre Rouge between 11:45 and 11:50 pm. When he got out, he noticed that his motorcycle was missing. This location is covered by a surveillance camera. In the wake of this investigation, the CID of Terre Rouge had arrested a homeless man. The latter had confessed to stealing the motorcycle. He said he had stolen it to buy drugs on Alfred Besnard Street and had abandoned it on the spot. The CID had information that youths from this neighborhood were riding the Suzuki. The suspect has committed at least twenty cases of motorcycle theft across the island.
