The Horse Racing Division is expected to take the entries for the second day of racing on Wednesday. For the inaugural season on Sunday, People’s Turf PLC was in charge of its organisation.
The other two entries in this 1,400m long race are Crank It Up (Ecurie Narang) and Prospector (Ecurie Mahadia). At the close of the hour, the deadline for the submission of entries, the names of only about thirty horses landed at the Horse Racing Division. The Horse Racing Division decided to open the entries until 11 o’clock on Wednesday, in order to attract more horses. But fortunately, the organisation was able to find enough entries for the day to go on.
The People’s Turf Club PLC withdrew its application for an injunction in the Supreme Court on Tuesday. This after having been able to organise the first day of the 2022 season without a hitch, last Saturday at the Champ-de-Mars. It is recalled that it was asking the judge in chambers to prohibit the MTC Sports & Leisure Ltd (MTCSL) and the Mauritius Turf Club (MTC) from removing or dismantling the existing structures and horse ramps at the Champ-de-Mars last Friday.
