The Horse Racing Division (HRD) published the new calendar. Like the previous one, which was scheduled to begin on April 9, the 2022 season will last for 34 days. However, some amendments have been made: the kick-off will be on April 23, there will only be a break after the 18th meeting and a second weekend of races (July 30 & 31) has been added. The season will end with a race weekend on December 3 & 4.
Regarding the classic races, The Duchess of York Cup will be run on the 4th meeting (May 14), The Barbe Cup on July 10), The Maiden Cup will be run on Sunday 11th of September 11, and the The Duke Of York Cup will be held on the 29th meeting (November 6).
The beginning of the season will be affected by the sanitary measures still in force as Horse racing will take place behind closed doors (in camera) with a maximum of 150 employees attending on race days.
