The main race of Saturday will be a very open contest. Gunston will try to make it three in a row. He is going up in class and his task might be tougher this time.
Gunston is a changed horse under the saddle of Brazilian jockey Ivaldo Santana. He did not win a single race in 2020, and he is back to his best this year. He was the quicker out of the gates on his last two outings and he won these races easily from pillar to post.
The Shyam Hurchund-trained horse is going up in class and he will carry the bottom weight. He has a good draw and he can be in the driving seat again without burning stamina. He will be the horse to beat.
Cyber Special did nothing wrong this season. He won over 1500m and he ran in the money three times. He is a genuine performer who will be well suited if there is a fight for the lead. He can follow close to the pace and finish strongly in the home straight.
Creation made an eye-catching run when he finished fourth last time. He raced at the back of the field and he had a nice turn of foot in the last 200m without being hard ridden. He is in a better shape and he will be right there this time.
Sea Dance is a good horse in this class. He already won twice this year. He is better when he can lead, but he can also race behind the leader. He will be a decent outsider.
Backpacker stands a chance. He ran second last time. He can have a dream run breaking from draw number one. He will have the only disadvantage of carrying the top-weight of 62 kg.
